Papakura Music School is a community organisation providing affordable music tuition for children in school years 1-8. Classes are jointly funded by the Ministry of Education and parents' contributions. Lessons are held at Mansell Senior School, Settlement Road, Papakura, on Saturday mornings during school terms.  Enrolments are taken in February, on the Saturday after school begins but pre-enrolment is available from November and is recommended for the more popular classes. A range of instruments are offered including Pre-Instrumental classes for 5-7 year olds, Recorder, Keyboard, Guitar, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, Drums, Vocals, Violin and Cello.  Many students also play in one of the Concert Bands or the String Ensemble. The parent committee organises a concert each year to showcase our students' achievement. Some instruments are available for hire, at very reasonable rates.  Books and music stands can be purchased at the Papakura Music School office on Saturday mornings.
